Journal Description

HOPOS, along with its sponsoring society, the International Society for the History of Philosophy of Science, will feature international, peer-reviewed scholarship concerning the history of philosophical discussions about science. HOPOS scholarship is firmly concerned with situating philosophical understandings of science within the broader historical and philosophical settings in which they were developed, and against the backdrop of mainstream issues in philosophical thought, covering epistemological, methodological, metaphysical, and moral issues relevant to the growth of our knowledge of the world and human nature.

The journal features articles, essay book reviews, and annually, an extensive review of the recent scholarship in a growing area.

Subscriptions to HOPOS are concurrent with a two year membership in Society. All individual and student subscribers are automatically enrolled as HOPOS members, with all attendant benefits.
