The Publishing unit of the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon was set up in 1993 in Fontenay/Saint-Cloud. It was given a new impetus after the École settled in Lyon in 2000. Its collections were redefined and editing was professionalised. The publications of the Institut National de Recherche Pédagogique (INRP, French institute for research in education, dissolved in December 2010) have contributed to strengthening ENS éditions since September 2011. A large variety of books and journals by French or foreign researchers are published in keeping with the topics and issues addressed by the school’s research centres. Literary studies, philosophy, the history of thought (history of ideas, of philosophy and of political thought), linguistics, the epistemology of language sciences, and social sciences (history, geography, sociology and economics) and education are of primary importance. Collection managers keep this large range of disciplines in mind when they make their selection of manuscripts.
