The Fernand Braudel Center for the Study of Economies, Historical Systems, and Civilizations engages in the unidisciplinary analysis of large-scale social change over long periods of historical time. Our primary focus in the study of the modern world-system characterized as a capitalist world-economy. We sponsor international conferences, conduct research projects, and publish the results in books and journal articles.
