Ithaca College Publisher Description

Ithaca College is a private college in Ithaca, NY founded by Grant Egbert in 1892 as a Conservatory of Music and in 1931 merged several affiliated institutions including the Patrick Conway Military Band School, Williams's School of Expression and Dramatic Art, Ithaca School of Physical Education and Westminster Choir School to form a comprehensive college. The school of music enrolls about 575 students and has 62 fulltime instructors. BM, BA, MM, MS degrees are offered in performance, music education, composition, jazz studies, sound recording technology, theory, conducting, Suzuki pedagogy, and music in combination with an outside field. The school has established archives of Walter Beeler, Karel Husa, and Frank Battisti and sponsors the publication of the Journal of Historical Research in Music Education.
