The Journal of New Zealand Literature is currently hosted by the English Section of the Department of Humanities at the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand. The English faculty includes internationally-recognised authorities on Medieval literature, Shakespeare and Renaissance literature, American literature, 18th century studies, Victorian Studies, Gothic literature, and New Zealand literature and cultural history. Departmental teaching strengths at graduate and undergraduate level include traditional literary history and textual studies, critical theory, gender studies, postcolonial literatures, popular culture, creative writing and theatre studies
