Abstract

Four further names are included in the synonymy of species of Cortaderia including one from Calamagrostis and another from Danthonia. The reproductive system in C. bifida is confirmed as autonomous apospory; no polliniferous plants of C. pungens have been seen in herbaria and it is suggested that this taxon may also be apomictic. Gynodioecism, the prevalent mode in the genus, is recorded for C. planifolia.
