Abstract

Based largely on experiments, a thermal theory of spontaneous generation proceeding from primordial gases through amino acids through primitive protein to cellular organizations is described and illustrated. The manner in which the experimental results influence the judgment of tests for life on Mars is discussed. Revision in the theory of spontaneous generation is also treated.
