Abstract

A second species of Priolepis from the Caribbean, Priolepis robinsi, is described from the Santa Marta region, Colombian Caribbean, where it seems to be restricted. It is similar to the Brazilian endemic P. dawsoni, but differs mainly in having smaller scales. Priolepis hipoliti, the only other Caribbean species described, is easily separated by fin-ray counts and color pattern; some information is given on its taxonomy, ecology and biology.
