Abstract

/// Although Population research was carefully supervised by the Nazi regime, numerous German scholars quietly continued to do objective and valid work. German Population Science, in order to recover, had to surmount not only the paralysis caused by the general collapse of 1945, but also the discredit attached to any thing which had been touched by the Nazis. Professor G. MACKENROTH, the well-known demographer of Kiel University explains how, against many odds, this recovery took place. The scientists of all countries will be glad to applaude the resurgence of German Demography.
