Abstract

Alvinocaris lusca, a new genus and species of caridean shrimp, is recorded from the thermally influenced Rose Garden area of the Galapagos Rift zone. Characters of this form indicate placement in the family Bresiliidae which is redefined. A key to the 5 bresiliid genera is given.
