The male of Amphiporeia gigantea Bousfield, previously unknown to science, is described from samples containing females of the same species and 4 other species of haustoriids, collected on Georges Bank in November 1975. The reproductive morphology within Amphiporeia is briefly compared and contrasted with known reproductive morphology and behavior within the subfamily Pontoporeiinae.
