Abstract

Thelypteris glandafra Viane sp. nov., and Th. × varievenulosa Viane hybr. nov. (Th. afra × Th. hispidula) are described from the Ivory Coast and their relationships with other mainly West African Thelypteridaceae is discussed. Alston's treatment (1959) of Cyclosorus s.l. is compared with Holttum's and correct names within Thelypteris are given. The name Th. × wildemanii (Christ) Viane comb. et stat. nov. should not be used for the hybrid between Th. afra and Th. dentata. A key to the indusiate tropical West African Thelypteridaceae with basal anastomosing veins is included. Thelypteris glandafra Viane sp. nov. et Th. × varievenulosa Viane hybr. nov.
