Abstract

Two letters by the Navarrese composer Fernando Remacha (1898-1984), sent to Salvador Bacarisse in 1949 and 1953, respectively, and published for the first time in this article, represent his supposed «definite farewell» to music. They reflect his deep pessimism in respect to a possible return—which later would take place, however, twenty years after abandoning his musical career.
