Abstract

The author examines here the different factors involved in the process of ridefinition of the meaning of « work » among the young. On the basis of data collected through an empirical research work carried out in Naples on a sample of 1200 secondary school students, the author centers his reflections on the present issues concerning the crisis of the ideology of « work » and attempts some possible interpretations of the different effects produced by this crisis in the field of youth guidance. In particular there is an analysis of the value of work, of the importance the young attach to the different aspects of work and of the influence that family and extra-family conditioning exercise on these factors.
