This paper was presented at the January 1972 Campus-Field Faculty Workshop at the Adelphi University School of Social Work. The paper articulates how the Adelphi University School of Social Work developed its curriculum to utilize generic theories and principles in its application to social work practice (which is taught to first-year graduate social work students), and demonstrates the application of generic principles to field work practice.
