Abstract

Debido a su alto crecimiento demográfico, la minoría hispana posee actualmente una gran presencia en la sociedad estadounidense, alcanzando un 15% del total de la población. No obstante, este protagonismo no está acompañado en la misma medida en el ámbito político, económico o educativo, donde sigue desempeñando un rol secundario, aun comparado con el de otras minorías. Given its high population growth, the Latin minority currently has a major presence in American society, reaching 15% of its total population. Nevertheless, this principal role is not mirrored to the same extent in the political, economic or educational spheres, where it still plays a secondary role, even when compared with other minorities.
