Abstract

Five year projections for the U.S. economy and corporate profits in the national income accounts are developed and some of the uncertainties that overhang such estimates discussed. Problems involved in using NIA corporate profits projections for estimating earnings per share of the major stock market series are reviewed and, finally, earnings per share estimates for two common stock series are made.
