Abstract

In the second half of the sixteenth century and the first half of the seventeenth century, the Inquisition turned its interest in prosecuting crimes of speech. Blasphemy and propositions came to constitute about one third of cases brought by the Inquisition courts. The decline of interest in the persecution of conversos and the new policy implemented by the Holy Office, after the conclusion of the Council of Trent, explaining the concern about this sort of words spoken. With our proposal, we intend to place this practice in the daily life of the modern age. So, get to determine the cultural and moral tensions in society Andalusia.
