Abstract

In 1857 Moshe Katzenelbogen wrote a work explicating the Biblical word "az" (אז). This article describes this work and the reasons for its composition, mainly in light of Rabbi Ibn Ezra's well-known interpretation of the verse, "And the Canaanite was then in the land" (Gn 12:6).
