Abstract

Schisma in Occidente non in rebus fidei, sed in functione ecclesiastica substitit. Etsi divisio in Ecclesia distributionem geographicam Europae secuta est, tamen non raro minoritates aderant proprio summo pontifici adhaerentes, qui in eadem regione a plurimis pro antipapa habebatur. Aliqui propter difficultates politicas caeterasve contrarietates parti adversae se aggregabant. Vario modo contra 'inoboedientes' actum est: eos tolerando, subtrahendo eis beneficia, privando eos officiis et subsidiis, immo interdum excommunicando. Raro tamen ad subiectionem vi armorum ventum est. Potius signa 'remissionis' (détente) in re publica animadvertebantur. Non defuerunt tamen singuli qui persecutionem vel potius 'victimizationem' subire debuerunt.
