Abstract

(1) A population model is proposed for the effects of a fungal parasite on densities of the cereal cyst-nematode Heterodera avenae. (2) Theoretical considerations show how this model predicts population decline and attainment of low stable equilibrium densities. (3) The model is simplified and a good fit is obtained to actual data. (4) Parameter estimates and possible future adjustments to the model are discussed.
