The present article informs about the Etymological Dictionary of Cashubian which is being prepared by Wiesław Boryś and Hanna Popowska-Taborska. The dictionary will contain exclusively Cashubian lexemes or those found besides in Old Polish or in contemporain Polish dialects. These will be etymologically analysed archaisms preserved in Cashubian, its lexical innovation and its own loan-words. As an example of the Cashubian word denoting 'quiet' (the lexical innovations skrǫtva/skrǫtev, ubëtk, bezṕek, sparχa/sparχ) and some selected lexical archaisms (gřǫdło, špȯl, spȯłk, sëjac, přitka).
