Abstract

In this paper, we propose and study some subset selection procedures for binomial populations in terms of the entropy functions. This is done in Section 1. Then, we deal with these procedures for some generalized entropy functions in Section 2. In Section 3, we discuss some selection procedures to select a subset which contains all populations better (larger entropy) than a standard. In Section 4, we discuss the distribution of the sample entropy range for testing the homogeneity in terms of entropy functions. In Section 5, we discuss an application for the selection problem in terms of the Kullback-Leibler information. Values of constants needed for the subset selection procedure are given in Tables IA, IB, IC and ID at the end of the paper.
