Abstract

A new association scheme called four-class cyclic association scheme with v = tpq with t a prime number of the form 4u+1 and p and q both positive integers ≥ 2 has been discussed and used to construct partial diallel crosses (PDC's). The analysis of the PDC's are based on the latent roots and idempotent matrices of the matrix A = NN', where N is the incidence matrix of the corresponding PBIB design. Of the four PDC's constructed with the help of the association scheme, Design IV appears to be more efficient than others.
