A Proportional Hazards Model for Interval-Censored Failure Time Data

Abstract

This paper develops a method for fitting the proportional hazards regression model when the data contain left-, right-, or interval-censored observations. Results for testing the hypothesis of a zero regression coefficient lead to a generalization of the log-rank tests for comparison of several survival curves. The method is used to analyze data from an animal tumorigenicity study and also a clinical trial.
