Abstract

Tests of hypotheses for the appropriate choice of the weight functions in the weighted binomial distribution are given. The procedures use the probability generating function techniques developed by Kocherlakota and Kocherlakota (1986, Communications in Statistics-Theory and Methods 15, 815-830).
