Abstract

The digestible energy value of puffed wheat alone and with 50 percent of added animal fat was determined in a digestibility trial. The puffed wheat had a digestible energy value of 3,510 calories per gram expressed on an 85 percent dry matter basis. The addition of 50 percent fat raised the digestible energy value to 5,480 calories per gram.
