Abstract

In a previous study (Orf & Gerhards 1980) the somatometric data obtained from 68 corpses were used to determine the one external body dimension correlating best with the individual nerves of the extremities. Based on these data regression equations were generated in order to use this external body measurement for calculating the length of peripheral nerves. This method allows indirect determination, with sufficient accuracy, of the overall nerve length in the arms and legs of individual patients. In einer vorangegangenen Studie (Orf & Gerhards 1980) dienten die an 68 menschlichen Leichen vorgenommenen somatometrischen Untersuchungen dazu, von verschiedenen Körperaußenmaßen dasjenige mit der günstigsten Korrelation zu den einzelnen Extremitätennerven herauszufinden. Nunmehr wurden von den gewonnenen Daten Regressionsgleichungen erstellt, um für klinische Belange anhand dieses Körperaußenmaßes die Länge peripherer Nerven errechnen zu können. Diese Methode ermöglicht, am Patienten individuell die Gesamtlängen seiner Arm- und Beinnerven mit zureichender Sicherheit indirekt zu ermitteln.
