Abstract

Following on the peace treaty with Morocco in 1765, the Venetian legate went back to Venice with a group of freed or ransomed slaves, who began living in liberty again. Some of them found a job in the Venetian dockyard and some, that originally came from Tabarca, joined their compatriots in Sardinia.
