A new skull of Youngina capensis, in which the palate, brain case, and quadrate region are preserved in excellent condition, is figured and described in detail. Several previously unknown features of the skull strengthen the conclusion that this form is on or near the line of ancestry of the Squamata and Rhynchocephalia.
