A synopsis of Rinodina althallina, R. subnigra and R. zwackhiana is given. The last species is shown to possess sorediate and fertile morphs for the first time and to be conspecific with R. transsylvanica and R. violascens. The possible advantages of such a dual reproductive strategy are briefly discussed.
