Abstract

Four additional records of E. granulosus in dogs from the continental United States bring the total number of cases to 15. It is suggested that definitive hosts other than the dog may be involved, since only four dogs in over 9,000 examined were found to harbor the adult, whereas 800 hogs out of 8,000 harbored the hydatid stage of the parasite.
