Abstract

Se propone a Beilschmiedia manantlanensis, una nueva especie de Lauraceae conocida únicamente de la vertiente sur de la Reserva de la Biosfera Sierra de Manantlán, la cual crece en las cañadas que bajan hacia Cuzalapa y Casimiro Castillo. La especie se describe e ilustra, y se compara morfológicamente con otras especies. /// Beilschmiedia manantlanensis is a new species from the rugged western portion of the Sierra de Manantlán Biosphere Reserve in Jalisco, Mexico, an area known to be rich in endemic and disjunct species. The new species is described and illustrated, and its distinguishing characters from similar species are summarized.
