Marriage records from six towns in Essex County, Massachusetts, have been analyzed, to determine the extent of migration at the time of marriage. Records have been considered for three periods, 1701-1720, 1751-1770, and 1801-1820. Rates of endogamous marriage were determined, and the geographical extent of migration considered.
