Abstract

Samuel W. Blizzard was a prominent and popular figure in the sociology of religion for nearly 30 years. In the roles of sociologist, theological educator, and border broker he made a substantial contribution to the sociology of ministry and to theological education. This paper provides an appreciative review of Blizzard's life and work, describes his contribution, and makes an assessment of that contribution.
