The contents of 29 chukar (Alectoris graeca) crops collected near Srinagar, Kashmir, were analyzed. Although a variety of food items was present, nearly 65 percent of the volume consisted of grass seeds. A species of Eragrostis made up the greatest percentage. Chukars apparently utilize similar grass and weed seeds, green leaves, and agricultural plants in the United States and India.
