A new Sorbus species, S. scepusiensis, is described from the Slovenské rudohorie Mts., Eastern Slovakia, Czechoslovakia. It is related to S. austriaca but differs in shape and size of leaves, size and position of calyx-teeth, size of petals and colour of fruits.
