The assignment of the monotypic genus Camioleum Lewis from Japan to the Anthobium-group of genera within the tribe Anthophagini of the staphylinid subfamily Omaliinae is confirmed. Some of the characters of Camioleum are discussed, the sexual characters and the characters on the eighth abdominal segment are described and illustrated. Some ecological data for C. loripes Lewis are presented, based on specimens collected by the author in two locations on the island of Honshu.
