The 8 species of the genus Anogeissus are recognized with a key for identification of the species and varieties. One new species, A. dhofarica, is described from Dhofar Province in Oman; Finetia is treated as a new section. Lectotypes are selected for A. schimperi, A, harmandii, and A. pierrei.
