Abstract

A new variety of Monadenium pudibundum from Zambia is described as var. lanatum. A new tuberous-rooted species, Monadenium rugosum is described from Mozambique and Tanzania. A thick-stemmed succulent species hitherto confused with the East African M. schubei is described as M. spinulosum. Monadenium fanshawei and M. depauperatum are reduced to synonymy under M. capitatum and M. parviflorum respectively. Synadenium gazense is reduced to synonymy under S. kirkii.
