A method based on X-ray fluorescence spectrometry has been developed to determine minor elements in solid water-treatment chemicals. Elements (potassium and heavier elements) are detected from the qualitative X-ray scan. Measurement of an element in all chemicals is done from a standard made up in one chemical only.
