Abstract

The political exile during the second absolutist period of Ferdinand Vu reign was the most important in the 19th century. Several studies have been made about this phenomenon. However, the political involvement of Spanish liberals who went to this exile is not yet clear. This article is an attempt to classify those exiles according to the political attitude of every group. It also aims at pointing out the different levels of commitment of liberals with the activities they organised abroad against the absolutist Monarchy.
