Abstract

The article clarifies a widespread idea among scholars of German exile and in particular of the German community in Argentina in the 1930s and 1940s. According to this idea there was a sharp and strict separation between those Germans as members or not of National Socialism. From the analysis of various German institutions in Argentina, especially the cultural ones, the author tackles common areas for socialization and strengthening processes of German identity.
