Abstract

E' descritta la struttura dell'austorio di Plasmopara viticola su Vitis vinifera var. Malvasia in sezioni ultrasottlli al microscopio elettronico. Sono riportate osservazioni sulla modalità di penetrazione dell'austorio. The ultrastructure of Plasmopara viticola haustoria in Vitis Vinifera var. Malvasia is described. The invagination of the host plasma membrane is evident. The haustorium wall appears to be continuous and consists of two distinct layers : the one towards the haustorial cytoplasm is electron-transparent, the other, which represents the actual interface between host and parasite, is electron-dense. A collar at the base of the haustorium has been observed ; sometimes a sheath like structure is also present, but only around part of the haustorium. In the haustorium mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes, vacuoles and lipids are present. The way of penetration of the haustorium into the host cell is discussed.
