The Rudolphus occurring in the Latin verses under the portrait of the family of Jan van der Does, appears not to have been Rudolf of Antwerp, but the Utrecht master, Roelof Willemsz (of Culemborg), twice mentioned by Van Buchel as a portrait painter. This Roelof Willemsz, whose name up to the present was found solely in archivalia, was a sound portraitist, who did not follow the manneristic style of that time.
