Abstract

Experiments were laid out at the Tropical Forest Research Institute Jabalpur, (M.P.), to test the efficacy of two varietal toxins of Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner, viz. var. dendrolimus and var. delfin against the teak leaf skeletoniser Eutectona machaeralis, a major pest of teak. The pest showed high susceptibility to both toxins, more so to that of B. thuringiensis var. dendrolimus. Uji kaji dijalankan di Institut Penyelidikan Hutan Tropika, Jabalpur, (M.P.), untuk menguji keberkesanan dua jenis toksin dalam Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner, viz. var. dendrolimus dan var. delfin terhadap ulat perangka daun jati Eutectona machaeralis, perosak utama yang menyerang pokok jati. Perosak ini mempamerkan kerentanan yang tinggi terhadap kedua-dua toksin, terutamanya terhadap B. thuringiensis var. dendrolimus.
