Abstract

This paper analysis Tamil Nadu politics through the prism of the 1991 elections against the background of the political tradition of the state, the social dynamics of politics, and people's orientation to political and social change. It is only against such a background that actors and actions can be located and the significance of the vote in the 1991 elections analysed.
