The publisher, Eastern States Archeological Federation, is an educational non-profit established in 1935 (75 years old).  ESAF has been holding annual meetings of archaeologists since its inception, with delivered papers of an academic format.  Annual publication of Archaeology of Eastern North America began about 40 years ago.
