The North Carolina Office of Archives and History preserves, documents, and interprets North Carolina’s rich historical heritage from pre-colonial times to the present. The office includes the Division of Archives and Records, the Division of State Historic Sites, the Division of State History Museums, the North Carolina Historic Preservation Office, the State Office of Archaeology, and Historical Publications.
