Royal Historical Society Publisher Description
The Transactions of the Royal Historical Society is published by the Royal Historical Society in associationwith Cambridge University Press. The Society was founded in 1868 and exists to promote historical research nationally, andto represent the profession broadly conceived as including those engaged professionally in researching and presenting publichistory, whether in archives, libraries, museums, or the heritage industry. The promotion of research is carried on throughthe reading of the papers printed in the Transactions, the publication of documents relating to British historyin the Camden Series, and the publishing of monographs by Boydell & Brewer in the Studies in History series. Its representativerole is distinctive in focusing on historical research, and on the research aspects of the work of those professionally engagedin history.
